Authorities in Essex County are investigating the shooting death of a 17-year-old girl in new jersey.
Aquilla Flood was a fashionable 17-year-old, who spent her last hours preparing to be fabulous for her prom.
The Campus High School senior spent Tuesday evening shopping for shoes with her grandmother and mother and then she went to bed.
She was found in a pool of blood in her own bed, investigators say the teen was found lifeless around 7:30 Wednesday morning.
Her family believes someone came into their East Orange apartment at some point during the night and shot the teen.
Her mother was sleeping in the next room. Her uncle said he looked in her on around 3 a.m.
Flood's family says she had been receiving threats from an ex-boyfriend. Police have not released any information about suspects.
Wednesday afternoon, her family is gathered to remember the stylish teen for the sweet person she was.
Beautiful girl tho...
My heart goes out to the mother and family of Aquilla Flood It's such a shame that a young girl can lose her life over something so petty. I have a young daughter to and I can't begin to feel what you all are feeling and yes she was and still is a beautiful young girl and I know she will never be forgotten, but in the least God will never leave you nor forsake you and have faith that justice will be done and remember that pray changes things. God bless you all.
ReplyDeleteWhat is this world coming to, it's a shame that our kids are killing each other instead of loving one another. We as parents are suppose to protect our children and when something tragic happens we blame ourselves, although we know it's not our fault, because we can't get into the mind of a killer someone that can take a life and have no remorse. Im a parent of a teenage girl and my life will be shattered if such a thing like that happens. Im so sorry that this has happened to your daughter, but im sure justice will be done, because God does not like ugly and what goes around comes around. I will pray for the Flood family that God will get you through this tragic time. Time heal all wounds
