Face of Peace Africa is built on the platform of using pageantry to preach peace in the country and Africa at large.
The quest for world peace has kept everybody thinking and looking for a way out because everybody is affected by conflict in its various ramifications at all levels of society.
The first Edition of the event was held in Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, lagos, on the 9th of December, 2013, where Miss Zimuzor Benson Iloani beat 29 contestants to become the first Face of Peace Africa queen.
The second edition will be coming up in Abuja, the Federal Capital territory on the 16th of November, 2013, at the International conference Centre, Abuja – Nigeria.
The event promises to be a vocal point for women to air their minds in the quest for peace in the African continent.
The activities lined up for the event include peace seminars, a visit to some tourist sites in Abuja, a peace walk to the International Conference Centre venue of the event which will involve the FCT Minister, diplomatic corps, Musicians, Nollywood Actors, members of the media,Nanet Group, Friends of the Global Fund Africa, MOTIR,etc.
The Event is endorsed by
1. The Nigeria Police Force.
2. Friends of the Global Fund Africa.
Prizes have also been varied. The winner will now win $15 000 as against $10 000. She will also get a movie contract, trip abroad and wardrobe overhaul. First runner up will walk away with $5000, 42 inches Plasma TV, A movie contract, A year beauty routine and trip to Ghana. The second runner up will get, 27 inches Plasma TV, movie contract, a year beauty routine, and trip to Obudu cattle.
